Apple introduced the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini in an event, highlighting some features that are specifically designed for premium users.

Apple iPhone 12: Apple upgraded the display of the iPhone 12 from the previous model by replacing the IPS LCD display with a Super Retina XDR OLED display. The phone has a size of 6.1 inches and a resolution of 2532x1170 pixels (460 pixels per inch), which is significantly better than the previous model. The display of this phone can also reach up to 1200 nits of brightness, similar to the Pro models. It has a standard refresh rate of 60Hz and features True Tone.

For the protection of the display, Apple collaborated with Corning, the company that manufactures Gorilla Glass, to create a Ceramic Shield. Apple claims that the Ceramic Shield offers 4 times better drop performance and is tougher than any smartphone glass.

In the United States, Apple has included support for mmWave in this phone, and it also supports sub-6GHz 5G on a large scale. Apple has checked the speed of this phone at 100 carriers and claims that it can provide download speeds of up to 3.5 Gbps in controlled environments and best conditions.

Compared to the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 is 11% thinner, 16% lighter, and 15% smaller in volume. The iPhone 12 is available in various colors, including blue, green, Product Red, white, and black. As expected, the iPhone 12 features Apple's A14 Bionic chip. It has a 6-core (two high-performance and four efficiency cores) CPU and a quad-core GPU. The total number of transistors in the A14 Bionic chip is 11.8 billion. The A14 Bionic is 50% faster than any other smartphone chip.

The A14 Bionic chip also provides 80% faster machine learning performance compared to the A13 Bionic. According to reports, it supports 11 trillion operations per second, which boosts the Face Unlock and camera operations. The iPhone 12 features a wide f/1.6 aperture camera that captures 27% more light, along with an ultra-wide camera.

Both rear and selfie cameras of the iPhone 12 now have Apple's new Smart HDR feature with better white balance and texture. They can capture images in Night mode as well. According to expectations, Apple has removed EarPods and the charger from the box, claiming it as an effort to reduce carbon emissions. Apple has introduced MagSafe in this phone, which is a magnetic connector used for charging the device. The Qi wireless charger of this phone now charges it at 15 watts instead of 7.5 watts. With a purchased adapter, the phone can be charged at 20 watts.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 12 started on October 16, and its availability began on October 23. The price of the phone starts at $799.

The Apple iPhone 12 Mini has a size of 5.4 inches and a resolution of 2340x1080 pixels, featuring a Super Retina XDR display. Its display also reaches a brightness of 1200 nits. The iPhone 12 Mini shares many features with the iPhone 12, such as the chipset, camera system, wireless charging, IP68 rating, and color options.

Apple offers the iPhone 12 and 12 Mini with storage options of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB. They are available in blue, green, black, white, and Product Red colors. The iPhone 12 Mini went on sale from November 6, with availability starting from November 13.
